  • Simple Plan Honoured With Allan Waters Humanitarian Award

    Simple Plan has just been announced as the recipients for the 2012 Allan Waters Humanitarian Award for their work through the Simple Plan Foundation! The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences is thrilled to recognize the band for their charitable, global fundraising efforts and dedication to supporting youth through several Canadian charities.
    “Words cannot express how grateful we are to be the recipients of this award,” said Chuck. “To be recognized by CARAS and the JUNO Awards is a true honour for us. As a band we have been very fortunate to receive the constant support of our fans, which has allowed us to continue doing what we love for the last ten years. Because of that, we believe that it is extremely important for us to give back, and the Simple Plan Foundation is our way to do this. We are very proud of all of our Foundation’s initiatives — they have helped to define us as a band and have become a large part of who we are. There is no question that the Simple Plan Foundation will continue to grow and that we will be able to help our communities for many years to come."
    The band will receive the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award on March 31st in Ottawa, Ontario at the JUNO Awards Gala.

David Philippe Desrosiers (born August 29, 1980) is a French Canadian musician, who is best known as the bassist and backing vocalist for pop punk band Simple Plan. Born in Sept-Îles, Desrosiers was raised in Matane, Quebec.
He has briefly played the drums and bass guitar for bands such as The Used, Vendetta Red,Green Day, Good Charlotte, and MxPx. He guest-starred on Season 3 of The Naked Brothers Band, episode 7, Naked Idol, Part 2.
Desrosiers primarily plays a Fender Precision Bass.

Charles-André "Chuck" Comeau (born September 17, 1979) is a French Canadian musician, who is best known as the drummer for pop punk band Simple Plan.
Comeau started his music career in Reset with fellow bandmate Pierre Bouvier. After the band's first CD was released, Comeau left the band and went to McGill University to pursue a degree in law.
After reuniting with Bouvier at a Sugar Ray concert, he soon left school and helped Bouvier to form Simple Plan. In Simple Plan, Comeau, along with Bouvier, are the main songwriters. He is sometimes known as the "writer" of the band as he does most of the lyrics, writes all the concepts, and writes the scripts to Simple Plan's music videos.
Comeau was also a judge for the 7th annual Independent Music Awards to support independent artists' careers.

Sébastien Lefebvre (born June 5, 1981) is a French Canadian musician, who is best known as the rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist for pop punk band Simple Plan. He also released his debut solo album “You Are Here/Vous Etes Ici” via Coalition Entertainment Records in 2009 and "Les Robots" in 2011.
During early 2009 Lefebvre recorded an acoustic EP entitled "You Are Here/Vous Etes Ici." You Are Here / Vous Êtes Ici was released October 20, under Coalition Entertainment (Records) Inc. Sébastien was inspired to make “You Are Here” purely by his love of writing and recording music. The EP could not sound more different from Sébastien’s previous work with Simple Plan.
With all the songs having been written, recorded and produced by Sébastien himself, “You Are Here” brings to light the depth of his talent. This seven track EP is a departure from Sébastien's punk rock roots and showcases his folksy, laid back side.
The first single "I Fall for You" was released on September 8. A music video was recently released on YouTube. The music video is directed by Simple Plan band mate, Chuck Comeau.

Lefebvre has also released songs on his Myspace page. These include a cover of Weezer's song Can't Stop Partying and a cover of Tik Tokfrom Kesha. On Seb's Myspace page there are demos of two new songs.On September 8 Lefebvre posted a new album sample on his Myspace for a second ep slated to be released in early 2011.
He has also recorded and released another solo EP, called Les Robots, in 2011. He has put it on his official website, and people can download it for free.
